Older Pets Cannot Be Insured

Many people are natural pet lovers.  They would treat their pets almost like their children; buying clothes for them, expensive foods, take them for pet services every month and regular check up with the vet.  This surely adds up to the household budget.  Pet owners may take advantage of pet insurance as this will cover most of these pet services.  But they have to make sure that they have the coverage they need.  An older pet may not qualify for a pet insurance and so is an injured one.  Pets should be insured for 18 months free of any illness and injuries.  Insuring the pets as young as possible is advised.

“Insurers won't cover pre-existing conditions,” he said. “So if you notice your seven-year-old Lab or Shepherd is limping and try to get insurance for the dog, they won't be covering any hip dysplasia. With most policies, you have to be insured for 18 months without any visible sign of an illness before they will cover anything.”
