Dividend Upsurge By Prudential Financial

An announcement made by Prudential Financial yesterday that its board of directors has ratified an upsurge in its yearly dividend.  The board announced a yearly $1.45 dividend per share for 2011, which is 26% more than 2010’s dividend and the utmost dividend ever compensated by the company.  Prudential Financial, an insurance and financial services provider declared that the dividend is payable on December 16 to stockholders of record as of November 22.  According to a report by Bloomberg News, MetLife asked for to increase its dividend but was prohibited by the Federal Reserve.  MetLife needs to be approved by the Federal Reserve because of its enormous size.
